Speaker Series for the Proposed Institute of American Ideas and Institutions

As part of a larger grant initiative to raise funds to establish the ASU Institute for American Ideas and Institutions, I propose to fund a speakers series for AY2005-06 to bring prominent speakers to make presentations and hold discussions with Institute faculty on various aspects of American ideas and institutions, including the way in which various institutions reflect, foster, or challenge various American values and the ways in which policy initiatives fulfill or compromise the promises inherent in those values, variously defined.
