Description
Zines (pronounced zeenes) are do-it-yourself publications that come in many shapes and flavors and invite readers to an intimate reading experience like no other. Away from the mainstream publishing scene and distribution chains, these print materials explore creative self-expression and artistic freedom issues while stretching and redefining the perception of knowledge creation and dissemination in the digital age.
In conjunction with the opening of a zine collection at Hayden Library, this research cluster brings together scholars and practitioners to investigate the place of zines in society in general and in Arizona and ASU in particular.
